(ANSAmed) - BRUSSELS, OCTOBER 26 - The EU Delegation to
Israel, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the Natural
Resource and Environmental Research Centre will be holding a
conference in Haifa on climate change on 1 and 2 November.
According to the Enpi website (www.enpi-info.eu), the second day
will mainly focus on the various aspects of EU-Israel
cooperation in this area, including the research projects
implemented under the 7th EU Framework Programme.
Policy discussions and exchanges of experience related to
concrete projects showcasing Euro Mediterranean relations will
be on the agenda, including the MED ENEC II Programme on Energy
Efficiency in the Construction Sector, the Mediterranean Solar
Plan and the Horizon 2020 initiative to depollute the
Mediterranean. The first day of the workshop will shed light on
past, present and future aspects of climate change, and provide
an overview of climate negotiations from Rio to Durban. The
economics of climate change will also be discussed from a US
perspective. The workshop will conclude with a roundtable
discussion which will bring together the Heads of the Climate
Change Information Centre, Ministries and the Head of Unit on
Climate Change at the European Commission. (ANSAmed).
