(ANSAmed) - ROME, NOVEMBER 24 - The agreement for the transition
in Yemen must ''be fully implemented, and all violence must
cease'', said Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi in a
statement released by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
''Italy looks with favour upon the news of the agreement for a
political transition in Yemen signed yesterday in Riyadh by
President Saleh and the opposition,'' the statement says. ''It
is now necessary for the agreement to be fully implemented and
that all violence cease.''
The foreign minister added that ''I hope President Saleh will
bring in the called-for transfer of power without further delay,
enabling the Yemeni population to freely decide its future.
Italy confirms its unyielding commitment to the stabilisation of
Yemen, especially due to its fundamental role within the
regional context.'' (ANSAmed).
