(ANSAmed) - NAPLES, OCTOBER 11 - "Logistics as a driver of
development for the international integration of production
systems" is the theme of the international conference to be held
at the maritime stations of Naples on October 19 and 20.
The conference is being organised by the Campania region, with
the collaboration of the regional agency Logica and the Sicily
region and will draw conclusions from the ItalMed cooperation
project. A number of workshops will take place on the opening
day, including "Logistics and integration between Italy and
Algeria: new maritime links", "Exchange of best practice in
ports and maritime transport for logistical integration between
Italy and the Kingdom of Morocco" and "Project for a new
Italy-Tunisia maritime line in the Adriatic corridor: analysis
of the feasibility conditions".
The second day of the event will include talks on "Territorial
cooperation strategies and logistical and transport integration
prospects for Italy and countries in the southern Mediterranean"
and on logistics as part of the conference entitled "Logistics,
development and the international integration of productive
systems". The conference will close with the budget and the
final results of the ItalMed project.
The project, which was launched in Naples in 2009 together with
the ItalBalk project, reserved for relations with the Balkans,
was created to improve connections for commercial traffic in the
Mediterranean area and for the birth of common entrepreneurial
initiatives geared towards improving the level and the quality
of services and for encouraging operators to use intermodal
solutions. The project was financed as part of the support
programme for regional cooperation, which was carried out by
Italian regional bodies in collaboration with the country's
Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Economic Development.
The leader region in the ItalMed scheme was Campania, but nine
other regions were also involved (Abruzzo, Basilicata,
Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lazio, Puglia, Sicily,
Tuscany and Veneto), as were countries from the southern
Mediterranean, namely, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
