Ansamed

(ANSAmed) - ANCONA - Eighty appointments, from private productions to exclusive national events, artists from 15 different nations. These are the numbers of the Adriatic Mediterranean Festival, due to close on September 5 in Ancona.

Artists who participate include Ambrogio Sparagna and the Popular Italian Orchestra, Turkish artist Jazemin Sannino, Teresa de Sio, The Officina Zoe' and the Boban and Marko Markovic Orkestar. Also,the Monistra (ethnic-band from Macedonia), the Montenegrin guitars of Srjdian Bulatovic and Darko Nikcevic, Nabil Othmani with the music of the Tuareg of Algeria. As for figurative arts, the exhibit The Arab Body, on the representation of the body in the Arab world inspired by the journal Jasad of the Lebanese poet Joumana Haddad: giant photographic works, installations and videos by two artists from Lebanon and Iraq, Ninar Esber and Sama Alshaibi.

September 4, Mediterranean Night is scheduled, with artists from every corner of the Mediterranean, while September 5 which is also the European day for Jewish Culture, the festival concludes at the port with a concert by Carmen Consoli. The Ancona festival is part of a programme of events which has involved many cities throughout the Mediterranean and which will conclude in October in Egypt. (ANSAmed).
