(ANSAmed) - ROME - From November 17 to November 20 the XIV
edition of the Mediterranean Bourse of Archaeological Tourism
will be held in Paestum (Salerno), sponsored and carried out by
the Salerno provincial government under the High Patronage of
the Italian President and with support from the Culture and
Foreign Ministries, the International Studies Centre for the
Conservation and Restoration of Culture Property (ICCROM), the
World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) and UNESCO in collaboration
with ENIT and with backing from the Council of Europe, the
Tourism Ministry, the Conference of Religions of Autonomous
Provinces, the Automobile Club of Italy, Federturismo,
Confturismo, and Assoturismo.
Sole exhibition in the world of archaeological heritage and the
first international show of virtual technology, the event
planned and directed by Ugo Picarelli of Leader SAS aims to
foster the commercialisation of specific tourism products and
in-depth study of issues concerning the protection, use and
valorisation of cultural goods and cooperation between
populations.
Strategic for the promotion of the products of cultural tourism
product will be a demand and supply workshop with 80 foreign
buyers selected by ENIT from 12 countries: Austria, Belgium,
Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands,
Russia, Spain, the United States, Sweden and Switzerland.
In designing the coordinated image of the event traditionally
linked to the official host country - this year Turkey - the
giant stone heads adorning the King Antioch temple atop Mount
Nemrut were selected. Turkey's archaeological heritage will be
illustrated on Friday November 18 in the presence of Culture and
Tourism Minister Ertugrul Günay and the directors of Italian
