(ANSAmed) - TUNIS, SEPTEMBER 3 - A project for the construction, in 2011, of three water desalination plants in the region Gabes (southern Tunisia) was elaborated by SONEDE (Societe' Nationale d'Exploitation et de Distribution del Eaux). With a cost of 14 million dinars (about 7.23 million euros), the plants will serve the zones of Zarrat, Matmata and Manzel Habib. In July, SONEDE and the Ministry of Agriculture and Hydraulic Resources signed a contract for 70 million euros with the group Pincesse Befesa for the construction of a desalination plant on the island of Djerba.
