(ANSAmed) - RABAT, SEPTEMBER 3 - The world economic forum
with the title ''Resilience and prosperity'' on the Middle East
and North Africa (MENA) region will be held by the end of
October in Marrakesh. The Forum will unite political leaders,
entrepreneurs and representatives of communities from the entire
region to discuss a strategy for development and growth during
the global economic crisis, as well as the volatility of oil
prices, lack of water and immigration.
The event will focus in particular on the sovereign funds and
their regional use in the development of infrastructures,
renewable energy, healthcare and welfare systems. The prospects
of the MENA region will be examined, starting with its financial
liquidity, its potential and demographic growth, taking the new
ways for investments and trade between the shores of the
Mediterranean and sub-Saharan Africa into account, as well as
the emerging relations with Asia and the United States.
The Forum's programme is divided into three directions:
''Regional answers to global risks'', ''Towards durable growth''
and ''North Africa: the regions of the new commercial
partnership''.
Andre' Schneider, director of the World Economic Forum, has
underlined that these themes have been selected because of their
relevancy due to the new commercial expansion recorded in North
Africa, thanks to its ties with the sub-Saharan and European
markets. (ANSAmed).
